A great
aspect of our club is how TF’s support each other, with a
fantastic 18 members present at todays Arundel 10k, either
spectating or cycled over to shout encouragement. Nine TF’s
completed the course, and our first four home must be well
placed in the team competition.

From L to R Anthony Towers, Graham Liddell, Glenn Parisi, Steve Fryer, Paul Atkinson & Andy Strong. Apologies to Mark Challen Jacqui Anderson & Yvette Perry who we couldn’t find amongst the 640 finishers to join the above team pose.

The variable
British climate once again had an impact, this time Worthing Triathlon,
the sixth race in our championship. Rough seas put paid to the swim,
much to the dismay of our swim specialists and the wind which had
whipped up the sea would prove heavy going over the run, bike run
course. Despite this there were an impressive 17 club members who
completed the course. All credit to Keith Mulholland, our newest member
who joined in time to take the 10,000 points in emphatic style with some
cracking split times. In finishing order well done to Keith, Simon
Palmer, Steve Fryer, Owen Marfany, John Collins, Paul Atkinson, Anthony
Towers, Jon Mays, Chris Levitt, Steve Feest, Tony Pearce, Ben Evans, Ian
Moore, Leanne Levitt, David Priest, David Starr, & Chris Evans.

Our second Lido race and another glorious summers evening. Whilst a great number of competitors, it was pleasing to see so many other club members present who had cycled over or were there to cheer the squad – a fantastic 37
Tuff Fitties present. Competitors were (left to right) Stew, Margaret, Christian, David P, Sarah, Nige, Andy S, David M, Ian M, Tony, Graham, Kev, Jon R, Chris L, Michelle, Leanne, Simon K, Steve F, Owen, Chris E,
Ross, Dominic & Anthony. Kurt, Alice, & Nikki further back and not pictured.
Special congratulations to Dominic in his first race as a TF – first one home.

A good turnout,
particularly from our
Worthing
Aquathlon doubled as a ‘stag do’ for Captain Kev’s forthcoming
marriage & it was decided to run as a group sporting shirt and tie.
Unfortunately very choppy seas put off many of the squad, but 9
members participated – 17% of the entrants. Simon P & John ran on
wanting a hard workout with the picture showing Kev, Ian M, Jon R,
Clive, Stew, Trev & Andy. The group gained smiles and much applause
along the course. Numbers swelled to 24 TF’s over the evening for
the curry and beers afterwards – an excellent evening’s racing and
merriment, with the fancy dress gang all earning spot prizes.
8th-July-08:
This weekend saw 4 TF’s at what should be a summers
Olympic race at
Two Tuff Fitty’s raced on Sunday at the 750m/25k/6km Beaulieu Triathlon Andy Matthews had an excellent result finishing 12th out of 250 competitors 14.27.50 46.06 26.09 total 1.26.43 Joanne Gray also did well coming home 3rd in her age group 17.48.50 54.16 28.52 total 1.40.57
It was great to see the numbers out cycling today, despite very blustery weather. The long distance group of 9 got out to Beachy Head and along to overlook Eastbourne before battling the wind home. The more recently established shorter group had 8 out. It is great that we are able to put on two variants of the club cycle at the same time in order that all abilities are catered for.
Congratulations to all at our club race, The
HANDICAP HAZARD at Arundel.
Great Weather, great turnout and great racing!
