PROVISIONAL DATE for the 2017 Tuff Fitty activity weekend
A great success in 2016 the proposal is to return to the same site at the same time.
Arrive, Friday afternoon, Friday evening depending on work commitments. Stay in spacious log cabins on the Hoseasons site at Warmwell. Bar, Eateries, and fish and chips on site, plus dad dancing (if 2016 was anything to go by). Saturday Morning sees participants split into different ability groups to ride part or all of the IM70.3 bike course. In the afternoon depart down to Weymouth for a sea swim. Sunday has a superb Trail run just 7 miles away with a choice of either 5k or 10k (with loads of great cake to eat afterwards). There is a snow centre on site so depending on takeup we may try and book a go on the Ringos, sit in inflatable tyre innertubes to slide down the artifical ski slope.
The fee includes accommodation on Sunday night as this enables us to stay in the cabins throughout Sunday. However several travel back in the evening for work the following day, the choice is yours.
Ask anyone who participated in 2016; highly recommended.
|Brighton Triathlon||Swim 800m, Bike 32km, Run 8km|
he Brighton Marina Triathlon is a relaxed and friendly triathlon, often quoted as being the best value people have had all season.
Added to this Brighton Marina provides excellent facilities for all the family with plenty of shops, cafes and bars, tenpin bowling to name a few plus the parking is free and the views worth the visit alone.
This is a great race for the ‘been there done that and got the t shirt [there is no t shirt] triathlete’. It is one you can come back to year on year and enjoy consistent racing without some of the normal triathlon issues:
NO DRAFTING ISSUES – the hills see to that!
NO CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS – there are only two waves heading off within 5 minutes of each other (vets, women, relay and an open race)
These regular rides will be leaving Littlehampton Pool at 8am sharp so please aim to get there in plenty of time. The ride will be 80 – 90 minutes long at a steady / easy pace of 10 – 12 mph. We are hoping to develop this area of the club to include a regular weekly ride, with 2 options in terms of speed and distance. Keep your eyes on the website and Facebook as we will be setting up a dedicated group which will keep you informed about what rides are heading out each week, and allow you to ask any questions.
Please bring spare inner tubes, a fully charged mobile phone and a water bottle, helmets mandatory. Thanks

The Barns Green Half Marathon and 10K, near Horsham, West Sussex, is run on closed roads through the beautiful West Sussex countryside, passing through the historic Christ’s Hospital school, where the School’s famous marching band will be playing. We also have a jazz band at the start/finish and four other bands along the route, where there are water stations, distance markers, marshals and of course the support of all the locals and spectators.
We are celebrating our 35th year of the Half Marathon in 2017, which is recognised as being extremely well organised and winner of a Runners World award in 2012.
We are proud and unique in presenting gold medals to our first 100 men and women, silver medals to the next 100 men and women and a hugely deserved bronze medal to all our finishers. We provide a goody bag for each finisher, secure baggage storage and free parking.
2017 will see the return of the 10K, after an extremely successful inaugural race in 2016. As the 10K also goes through Christ’s Hospital the 10K runners will also be encouraged by the School’s 100 strong marching band.
Not only that but the route to the finish is downhill!
The 10K runners will also receive a medal, goody bag, secure baggage storage and free parking.
