Tuff Fitty’s annual first visit to Arundel Lido.
Before the Lido opens to the public, Tuff Fitty have hired the facility. The heating will have been turned on by may not be quite up to operating temperature – Ideal conditions for us to hire to use as a wetsuit swim.
Heading into May it will not be long before the open water triathlons and open water swims occur. Therefore this is the ideal opportunity for you to ensure you can still get into your wetsuit for the coming season.
Cost £5 on the night. We can start swimming at 7:00pm and have the pool until 8:00pm. We have also hired the cabin where there will be hot drinks available. We need to be off the site at 8:30pm.
We hope to have a good Tuff presence.

2020 will be the 12th year the River Arun Swim has taken place and another unique chance to swim the river over the classic Ironman distance of 3.8km from Ford to Littlehampton. Fast times are guaranteed, just ask 2018 competitors, so many PB’s with 362 swimmers under the hour! WETSUITS ARE COMPULSORY.
The River Arun has the second fastest tidal river in the UK and stretches as far north as Horsham and down to the sea at Littlehampton in West Sussex. Swimmers are taken by coach to the start point at Ford Marina and then make their way on mass to finish at the RNLI in Littlehampton. Safety is our uppermost priority and we’ll have our usual REP crew including the Harbour Master’s launch, pilot boat, safety RIBS, kayaks and Sussex Search & Rescue spotters on the river bank.
The start will be just after high tide (at Ford) during the 30 minute period of slack water as the tide starts to ebb away back to the sea. Registration will take place at the RNLI Station in Surrey Street, Littlehampton, BN17 3BL which is also the location for the finish on the quay by the Look & Sea Centre and Cafe. Race packs and numbering take place here. For guaranteed parking head for Coastguard Road (BN17 5LH), which is close to Harbour Park Amusements and only a short walk to the RNLI.
At 7pm swimmers will start in the water and begin their 3 hour swim.
Swimmers will compete either solo, in pairs or teams of 3 to see who can complete the largest number of laps in the time given. The current number of laps will be displayed in the club house so supporters & team mates can see how the scores are progressing.
The swim will begin in daylight and finish by twilight so for the final hour of the swim glow sticks (provided) and tow float (not provided) will be required. Laps will be 1000m long for the first 2 hours and reduce to 500m for the final twilight hour.
Long-£25.00, Medium-£23.00, Short-£20.00. British Triathlon Day Licences £4.50
All competitors must be members of British Triathlon for the duration of the race.
The Beautiful surroundings at this location is great to take a long distance swim. All spectators will get a great view of the whole course.
There will be Activity Centre safety craft and lifeguards on duty to support you in your swim. Entries website is open until 6pm night before the race day, some entries on the day will be possible by arrangement with Race Organiser via email to email@example.com but you must register by 6.30pm latest..
