14th July 2010

Thanks to all that attended the July Jumble club race tonight, we had 23 tuff-fitties in total racing tonight. It was very close racing, with the top 7 coming in within a minute of each other. Congratulations to Christian Faires (18:45:00), and Polly Mosley (19:11:00).

4th July 2010

Not many Tuff's at Dorney today for the Steelman Olympic tri. What is it about the lake that attracts the wind so much, It must have moved up from Bournemouth and got progressively worse throughout the day; like last year, barriers were blown over and made for interesting bike handling with the wind tugging at the bars on the far side. Rob's first Dorney appearance, 1 mile over the river from Trev's house and me. Well done to Trev, first Tuff home.

18th May 2010

A great turnout for the Bognor 10k. Some fantastic times were clocked even with a strong headwind. Hobbsie was the first Tuff Fitty home in 38.15, to come in 13th overall out of a field of 1450 entrants.

18th April 2010

A very strong turnout of club members at today's inaugural Brighton Marathon. 15 club members took part in bright sunny conditions. For some it was their first marathon and others personal best times. Congratulations from us all - some terrific performances.

Spring Is Here...

This weekend saw the first day of spring and there were many riders out over the weekend on club cycle rides. Also congratulations to the sizeable number of Tuff Fitty’s out at Sunday’s Burgess Hill Cyclosportive. Thank you to all club members and our coaches for the efforts put into the winter training programme. Tuff Fitty look to be in great shape for the season ahead.

The Great River Run

Tuff Fitty are always looking to provide variety for members and so it was that we held our Grrr.. The Great River Run Route. Starting from the banks of the River Arun, the route went straight along the seafront to finish on the banks of the River Adur - a distance just over a half marathon - which provided some different running terrain. Shots from the start at the Arun and finish at the Adur, before a journey home by minibus

Brighton Half Marathon

Whilst the club have been seeing a strong contingent out for local races, it was gratifying that even for a longer distance - the Brighton Beacon half marathon, 24 Tuff's entered, and once again some more personal best times and first half marathons. Leading our contingent home were Clive Spicer, Richard Hobbs & Simon King.

Chichester 10k

A Tuff action Sunday once again. Well done to the 23 competing at the Chichester 10k. Some personal best times and for some their first ever 10k race. Other club members there to cheer the squad on. This still left TF’s in the New Forest for the Tuff V02 test and TF’s out on the Sunday cycle.

Hangover 5 mile

Happy New Year. 18 club members got their resolutions off to a great start at this morning’s Hang Over 5 run up to Cissbury Ring and back – a hilly muddy course. Congratulations to Polly, 1st lady overall & Simon King first male TF to cross the line

Christmas Cracker Aquathon

Tuff Fitty kicked off their festive season in style this morning with their Christmas Cracker Aquathlon. Fancy dress is positively encouraged for the run stage and the membership certainly rose to the occasion as the photo testifies.

Amongst this quality it was hard to pick a winner, but the judges chose Glenn with his towering Father Christmas stuck down a chimney & Andy S, Tiff & Jim, for their festive Coca Cola lorry; well done everyone.

Duck Pond Waddle

13 intrepid Tuff Fitty’s at today’s Duck Pond Waddle and some quick times despite the lashings of mud. Particular congratulations to Polly who finished 2nd female home overall. Also well done to Anthony T, Danny C, Graham, Paul A, Andrew C, Ade, Simon P, Ian M, Dom A, Trev, Linda & Dave P.

Velodrome

Tuff Fitty’s annual trip to the Velodrome, turned out to be another successful event; great to see more first timers tackling the thrills of the steeply banked track. Thanks to Anthony for organising again.

Hellrunner 2009

What a blast as “Tuff did Hellrunner” this morning. We all elected to run en masse splashing everyone, climbing the hills and running straight through the water together, A huge Tuft of Fitties crossed the line together before another massive TF BBQ afterwards. Great fun all round, we have certainly got your number… as the before and after shots testify. Despite 20 Tuff’s racing this still left other TF’s out at Brighton 10k, Gosport half marathon and Cross Country races… another grand day out.
