A testing Aquathlon set in the seaside town of Worthing on the South Coast with a 750m Sea Swim and a flat promenade run to the Pier. This is a great place to spend a weekend for the whole family.
The National Aquathlon Championships will be part of the Worthing Triathlon which has been described as a Bear Grylls event in that competitors are tested by the elements in all 3 disciplines, in this case just the two (swim/run). There is no hiding place at Worthing, but that’s why the event has been so successful for 18 years and competitors leave with a sense of achievement.
The beach start sea swim can be testing depending on conditions. Water quality is good and the swim has only been cancelled once in 18 years. We have contingency plans for an alternative swim course.
The one lap run course is fast and flat with a palm tree lined promenade and turn points at the historic Lido and Pier.
The finish and transition area are on a wide expanse of grass adjoining the promenade path with great vantage points for spectators in their own little amphitheatre.
The event will be based on Marine Crescent, Goring-by-Sea, Worthing, West Sussex, BN12 4JE.
est Sussex, BN18 9PB.
