Following the success of the ever-popular Frosty Aquathlon, Tuff Fitty Triathlon Club is proud to introduce the HeatWave and MicroWave Aquathlons – a brand-new summer race experience on the beautiful West Sussex coast.

Taking place on Sunday 5th July 2026, the event is based at The Wave, Littlehampton (BN16 2NA) and offers a fast, friendly and welcoming race environment for athletes of all abilities.

Whether you’re an experienced triathlete, a runner looking to try something different, a swimmer wanting a new challenge, or a previous Frosty competitor aiming to beat your winter performance, HeatWave is the perfect event for you.

The Venue

The event starts with a pool swim in the excellent 8-lane, 25-metre pool at The Wave, before heading out onto a scenic run course through Mewsbrook Park and along Littlehampton’s stunning seafront promenade.

With a safe pool swim, easy transition, a flat run course and supportive atmosphere, the HeatWave or the MicroWave are ideal for both first-timers and seasoned racers.

Choose Your Challenge

🔥 HeatWave – 800m Pool Swim, 10km Run

⚡ MicroWave – 400m Pool Swim, 5km Run

Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply looking for a great summer race, there’s an option to suit you.

The entry fee for both races is the same, but if you are not a member of the British Triathlon Federation (BTF), you must purchase a British Triathlon Race Pass, which costs £8, providing relevant insurance. The link to purchase a race pass will be provided upon entry.  Their full terms and conditions for Race Pass are shown here. People who are not UK residents will need to purchase their own insurance through their home country federation or personal insurance provider.

Alongside your entry fee, we are asking whether you would like to make a small donation to Cancer United, a local cancer charity, a cause close to our members’ hearts and continues to be our club’s designated charity.

Registration is at 6.10am with the first wave of the HeatWave setting off at 7.00am. The swim is in a 25m Pool and we have experienced lane counters to count your lengths. The run is well marshalled and takes in a circuit around the local boating lake before heading along the seafront promenade. The course is flat and, if your training has gone well and the weather is kind, fast. Individual and team winners are usually announced and presented with their prizes at around 10.30am.
